Some evenings call for a really good glass of wine. Others call for seven extraordinary wines, a special guest from Italy, and a deep dive into one of the most celebrated wine regions in the world.
This is definitely the latter.
We're thrilled to welcome Elisa Musso of La Spinetta and Contratto to The Wine Whisperer for a very special evening exploring the wines of Piemonte and Tuscany, from beautifully expressive reds and iconic single-vineyard bottlings to some seriously spectacular Italian sparkling wines.
La Spinetta has earned an international reputation for producing wines that are as distinctive as they are delicious, particularly its celebrated Barbaresco and Barolo. Contratto, meanwhile, brings more than a century of sparkling wine history to the table, crafting traditional-method wines that give Champagne lovers plenty to think about.
Together, these two estates offer a fascinating look at the Rivetti family’s winemaking traditions, its remarkable vineyards, and the people who continue to push the region forward.
Elisa will guide us through seven wines, sharing the stories behind the vineyards, the producers, and the bottles themselves. We'll explore the elegance and power of aged Nebbiolo, the versatility of Barbera, the charm of Moscato, and the extraordinary craftsmanship behind Contratto's sparkling wines.
Our tasting lineup:
La Spinetta Moscato d'Asti Bricco Quaglia
La Spinetta Il Rosé di Casanova

And yes, we're pouring both a 2018 Starderi Barbaresco and a 2017 Campè Barolo. In the same tasting. With someone who can tell us firsthand what makes them so special. We're just a little excited.
Whether you're a longtime lover of Italian wine or looking to deepen your understanding of one of its most compelling regions, this is an opportunity to taste, learn, ask questions, and spend an evening in very good company.
Two sessions are available, beginning at 5:30 PM and 7:30 PM. Each guided intensive is $50 per person, and seating is limited to keep the experience personal and conversational.
Come curious. Leave with a few new favorite wines and some very good stories. Reserve your seat here.
We can't wait to raise a glass with you!
