Meet your Wine Whisperers…
Marc Cram, Chief Executive Whisperer
By day, Marc is a Grand Cru financial planner in Richmond, Virginia. Between capital investments, he is a wine enthusiast and avid collector who wanted to bring Wine Whisperer to his adopted hometown. Marc enjoys Nebbiolo, Brunello, Pinot Noir, and tasking the team with finding new things to try. In his (albeit limited) free time, he loves hanging out with friends, and especially his three kids and two Bassett hounds.
Jenna Cheney
Wine Director
Jenna fell down the wine rabbit hole after a post grad career in linguistics and time living in Spain. A then non-drinker, she was fascinated by the nuances and complexities of wine. She loves to share her knowledge, experiences, and palate with others. Jenna focuses on interesting Other World wines, whites, strange varietals, collectibles, and of course her main obsession: Champagne. If you’ve met her, you know she’s always bubbling about food, traveling, and her cat.
John Jung
Store Manager
John hails from Scottsville, Virginia and got his start in the beer world in Charlottesville. He began working in wine when he moved to Richmond in 2016, where he met Jenna, and they quickly became friends. If you want to talk Bordeaux, Carignan, Port, all things craft beer, and great value buys, John is your guy. He’s also likely the first face you’ll see when you visit us! John likes to pair his wines with playing music with friends, smoking meat, and his undying love for NASCAR. (Go #9!).

Amber Hatfield-Matzke
Food & Beverage Director
Amber got her start in the wine industry by luck. A two decade veteran of the industry, she’s held almost every job in wine that there is - from slinging hoses in cellars to teaching classes about her beloved Nebbiolo. You’ll primarily find her behind the bar at Whisperer, where she hopes to delight and entertain your senses. When she’s not hosting you, Amber enjoys time with family, travel, and, of course, the wine in her glass.
